1964 Mazda Familia
This is a first generation Mazda Familia, Mazda’s approach to the mid-sized semi-luxury market (at the time sedans were luxuries). My late mother, upon moving to Japan in 1984, bought a Mazda Familia, while my father bought a Mazda Bongo. The first generation Familia was equipped with a 782cc in-line four water cooled OHV engine.
1962 Mazda Carol 600
This first generation Carol boasted a 586cc, water cooled inline 4 cylinder OHV engine.It accommodated up to 4 people.
1960 Mazda R360 Coupe
Production of the R360 Coupe started in 1960 and lasted for six years. The R360 had a rear mounted 356cc air cooled V-type 2 cylinder OHV engine. Speedwise, she topped out at 84 km/h (52 mph).
1956 Mazda Type GLTB Three Wheeled Truck
Photos taken at the Mazda Museum in Hiroshima, Japan. The Type GLTB Three Wheeled Truck was powered by an air-cooled 700cc engine which produced 22PS at 3,700 rpm. It was capable of carrying 750 kilos.
1938 Mazda Type GA Three Wheeled Truck
Displacing 669cc with its air cooled single cylinder engine, the Type GA produced 13.7ps at 3,200 RPM. Pictures were taken at the Mazda Museum in Hiroshima.
1935 Mazda TCS Three Wheeled Truck
Production of the Mazda TCS Three Wheeled Truck began in 1931. It was Mazda’s first vehicle. With a single cylinder, air cooled engine, it was quite simple design.
